Bullishly breaking down the Milwaukee Bucks season prediction in a three-part series

We have reached the final part of our three-part series covering a bullish Milwaukee Bucks season prediction. Let’s look at the top-end teams that I believe will be serious challenges for the Bucks this season. These games will hopefully teach us a lot about our team, and fingers crossed, we are in a position where these games can show us who is the real deal on our team. But realistically, there are 30 games between these teams, and we could lose a lot, if not all of them.

These are the 11 teams who will pose challenges for the Bucks this season.
-Denver Nuggets
-New York Knicks
-Houston Rockets
-Miami Heat
-Los Angeles Lakers
-Cleveland Cavaliers
-Minnesota Timberwolves
-San Antonio Spurs
-Oklahoma City Thunder
-Philadelphia 76ers
-Toronto Raptors
Let’s kick off with some teams that I will be tuning in to watch, with a hope in my heart that we will steal a win from them. The Rockets are a team that, for many years, has been contending (although they have struggled with success through those years). They are a deep and well-rounded team, but are a notch short of the elite teams in the league and have underperformed relative to their talent levels. The Raptors are an interesting one; we have struggled against them in the Giannis era when we dominated most teams. They are well-coached and have a great system, and I'm sure adding Kawhi Leonard won't slow that down, but they are still not at the elite level of teams at the top end of this tier. The Lakers are an interesting team. If Luka misses one of the two games against us, then, comparing the teams, I'm taking a healthy Bucks team head-to-head.
The Miami Heat… I don’t know how to feel about this team. I think they are top-heavy, and it will be interesting to see their game plan and how they run Bam and Giannis next to each other. These are two teams with question marks looming over them ahead of this season, and most Bucks fans will be tuning into this game with high hopes. It’s a scary thought to be on the receiving end of a Giannis legacy game, but I hold my high hopes that the Bucks will be able to keep a few of these games competitive or miraculously win one of these matchups. That being said, I think we will struggle to pull a game away from the Heat in a year when they will be looking to dominate their regular-season campaign.
These last teams are going to be short and sharp; they tick all the boxes. They are well-coached, have good depth (with plenty of star power) and have proven they can win. The Nuggets, Knicks, Timberwolves, Spurs, Thunder, 76ers and the Cavaliers. These are all teams that will more than likely sweep our season series. Even with one or two injuries to these teams, they will still have really good lineups taking the court each night. These games will be key to seeing specific players' development and if they can hold their own against the elites of the NBA. I mean, last season we saw Cormac Ryan, Ousmane Dieng, Jericho Sims and Pete Nance all have career-best games against the healthy Houston Rockets as the Rockets prepared themselves for the playoffs. I think that's what Bucks fans should be hoping to get out of these matchups.
Wrapping this series up on a bit of a bleak note with these more difficult teams, but let's look at our final win-loss record for this season. I'm predicting the Bucks will finish the season 30-52. I see us having a similar season to the 2025-2026 season, when we finished 32-50. It's funny; that season was a complete failure just a few months ago, but now, looking at a potential 30-52 record, it would be a huge success of a season. That record brings with it clear development in our young players, glimpses of potential stars, a refresh in our coaching staff, along with our game plan and hope for what our team can look like over these next few years. The NBA season is just over a week away, so get excited for what this season can hold for this new-look Bucks team!
